IASC PSEA Coordinators
Inter-Agency Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Coordinators
The full-time independent inter-agency PSEA Coordinator role was endorsed by the Inter-agency Standing Committee (IASC) Principals in 2016 (“Global SOPs”) and reinforced in the 2018 IASC Plan for Accelerating PSEA in Humanitarian Response at Country Level (“IASC Acceleration Plan”).
The Inter-Agency PSEA Coordinators, under the overall supervision of (D)SRSG/Humanitarian Coordinator (HC)/Resident Coordinator (RC), coordinate and support the collective PSEA activities at the country level. The Inter-Agency PSEA Coordinators report directly to the (D)SRSG / Humanitarian Coordinator / Resident Coordinator and support the UN Country Teams / Humanitarian Country Teams. The role of the Inter-Agency PSEA Coordinators includes working on:
- Support the PSEA In-Country Program
- Coordinate the PSEA Network/taskforce
- Strengthen PSEA within Organizations
- Engage Stakeholders
- Establish/Strengthen an inter-agency compliant mechanism
- Victims / Survivor-Centered assistance
- Promote Accountability, including Investigations
- Promote Information sharing
