IOM - Achievements During tenure of IASC Champion

Both IASC and the UN Secretariat have established multiple forums to address PSEA, and IOM is an active participant in all of them. There has been considerable mobilization of humanitarian response agencies through the IASC since 2011 to strengthen institutional and collective progress on PSEA. PSEA is now firmly embedded in the entire humanitarian response system, leadership roles have been articulated, and comprehensive tools are being rolled out to provide guidance to operationalize PSEA commitments.

Sexual exploitation and abuse represents a catastrophic failure of protection. It brings harm to those whom we are mandated to protect.

The Inter-Agency Standing Committee is working to scale up protection from sexual exploitation and abuse across humanitarian response efforts. This website and global dashboard has been developed and managed through the support of UNICEF. It is dedicated to providing technical support and resources to practitioners, and to tracking inter-agency, collective progress across countries with a humanitarian response.
