Inter-Agency PSEA SOPs with Annexes 2020

Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) inflicts incredible harm on the population that is meant to be served and prot ected by the very same persons exploiting them. It goes against all the principles of humanitarian action and its repercussions are disastrous for the persons who directly experience the exploitation and abuse, but also for the community in need of emergen cy assistance, as well as humanitarian actors in general, as confidence and trust is greatly impacted by such actions.

Sexual exploitation and abuse represents a catastrophic failure of protection. It brings harm to those whom we are mandated to protect.

The Inter-Agency Standing Committee is working to scale up protection from sexual exploitation and abuse across humanitarian response efforts. This website is dedicated to providing technical support and resources to practitioners, and to tracking inter-agency, collective progress across countries with a humanitarian response.
