Facilitators' Guide for Session on Values, Attitudes and Org Culture

In late 2020 and early in 2021, UNHCR hosted a dedicated session on values, attitudes and organizational culture in relation to prevention of sexual misconduct (sexual exploitation and abuse and sexual harassment), in respective capacities as former IASC Champion on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse and Sexual Harassment, and as Chair of the UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) Task Force on Addressing Sexual Harassment within the Organizations of the UN System.

The session we hosted offered an opportunity to start that process of reflection, in a safe space, on such questions. This facilitators’ guide, prepared at the request of participants in the CEB Task Force and IASC Principals’ sessions, is a tool to help you guide these valuable discussions.

Sexual exploitation and abuse represents a catastrophic failure of protection. It brings harm to those whom we are mandated to protect.

The Inter-Agency Standing Committee is working to scale up protection from sexual exploitation and abuse across humanitarian response efforts. This website and global dashboard has been developed and managed through the support of UNICEF. It is dedicated to providing technical support and resources to practitioners, and to tracking inter-agency, collective progress across countries with a humanitarian response.
